It works! That's what's important.
We bought this because our old window unit that was the same size malfunctioned. The old one started freezing up when on anything but the warmest setting. The service man said not to bother repairing it, replace it ASAP. He said the cost of repair could run twice what a new 18000 BTU unit would cost. I ordered this one on a Tuesday afternoon, and it arrived early Wednesday morning. The Prime shipping was a lifesaver, other retailers wanted to charge $200 to ship it in 10 days since it is an oversize item.

The unit itself works well. It is very heavy, you will either need to have a couple of fairly strong men available, or hire someone to assist you to install it. Once installed, it worked fine. The energy saver is a plus. This is used in combination with a smaller 6500 BTU unit in the back of the house, an energy saver as well. We haven't reached up to the 114 mark again since we installed it, but I think it will do a much better job of cooling in extreme heat than the...
