Fine cooking, but poor oven door design
The cooking functions of this range are just fine, but there are some issues which do warrant mentioning, so these have knocked a couple of stars off of the rating.

From previous reviews of other GE ranges, I had anticipated the odiferous burn off of the factory coating of the heating elements in this range. I still was surprised by the amount of time that it took for the acrid fumes to become unnoticeable, even though we ran an exhaust hood above the range full blast for about 2 hours during the burn-off phase.

More importantly, there is a very significant design flaw related to how the exterior stainless steel cladding on the lower oven door is attached. The cladding goes down to the bottom of the door and DOES NOT wrap around to the underside of the door. This leaves a sharp corner of sheathing material which is exposed at each bottom corner of the door. It took only a couple of weeks for me to snag one of these corners with an irregularity of a shoe...
